We are searching for a Head of Corporate IT, reporting directly to Merivale’s Chief Technology Officer. This is a pivotal role within our Senior IT leadership team responsible for day-to-day delivery, reliability and improvement across all venues and our Head Office The role is hands-on when required and leads a blended workforce of approximately 15 permanent and casual staff across service desk, field support and corporate/venue network operations. The focus is operational excellence, service quality and the uplift of people, processes and tools in a fast-paced, customer-centric hospitality environment. Responsibilities include Corporate & Venue Network Operations: Own wired and wireless networks across HQ and 100 venues, ensuring availability, performance, and rapid issue resolution. Venue & Office Technology Enablement: Oversee technology across venues and corporate environments, including Wi-Fi, POS networks, AV, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Service Desk & Field Support: Lead day-to-day IT support aligned to trading hours, major events, and peak operational periods. Hands-on Technical Leadership: Support incident resolution and troubleshooting, particularly during major outages or high-impact events. Process & Tool Uplift: Improve IT service processes using ITIL practices, automation, and modern tooling. AI Enablement: Identify and implement practical AI use cases to improve service efficiency and user experience. People Leadership: Lead, roster, coach, and develop the team, including performance management, onboarding, and capability uplift. Vendor & Commercial Management: Own vendor relationships, SaaS platforms, and associated commercial outcomes. Essentials Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). 8–12 years’ experience across Corporate IT, service operations, and multi-site environments. Experience in hospitality, retail, or similarly fast-paced operational environments preferred. Proven experience managing SaaS platforms, licensing, and renewals. Strong stakeholder communication skills in operational environments. You are a hands-on leader with the ability to dive into detail when needed. Continuous improvement mindset with strong process optimisation capability. Solid understanding of enterprise and venue networks (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi). Practical application of ITIL frameworks.
